Local Spotlight: Greenish Parties

Greenish Parties Logo

Greenish Parties is no longer in business but you can still read about Patty’s vision of a zero waste party business below!

School is in! Summer is over and the holiday season is fast approaching….holiday cheer, food and parties! Oh, wait…that means…the annual party you have to plan, cook and clean up for. All that work and so much waste!! If only there was an easy low-waste solution! Well, we have good news. Enter Greenish Parties.

Patty Cervenka was tired of the waste too, so she created Greenish Parties with the idea that celebrating doesn’t have to create lots of waste. Patty is passionate about the environment. This busy mom of 2 sits on the Town of Cary Environmental Advisory Board and created the organization, Greenish Neighbor in 2017. Greenish Neighbor focuses on teaching kids ways they could reduce their trash and help our environment. But that wasn’t enough. Patty says “I started offering Greenish Parties to provide a service that actually shows children and families what those simple choices can look like in action, in their own homes”.

But not to worry, your party decor will not be boring! She has many themes to choose from: kids birthday themes, graduation and holiday decor. She even delivers to your door emission free in her electric car! The best part- when the party is over she packs it all up and takes it away so there is ZERO mess to clean up! Zero work, zero mess and zero landfill contribution. It’s a win for everyone and the planet.

About the Author:

I’m a wife and mom of 3 young kids, living in Raleigh, NC. Moving “toward zero waste” in our family has been an empowering and positive lifestyle change for all of us. We feel like we are helping to decrease our landfill space and carbon footprint. It’s taught the kids to care for our environment, while simplifying our busy family life. We have a long way to go but are making one small change at a time.
