Dawn Comfort
Dawn ComfortRaleigh Community Director
Dawn Comfort is a software developer by trade. She combines her technical know-how with her passion for the environment to educate and inspire her fellow community members and advocate for sustainable change. As an environmental leader in her faith community, Dawn came to understand that individual change is not enough and we need our organizations, businesses and communities to embrace sustainable change. She would love to see Raleigh step up and become a leader in this space and works within the community with this end goal in mind.

Kate MacleodRaleigh Community Director
Kate Macleod is a rising senior at NC State pursuing a degree in Sustainable Materials and Technology with two minors in business. Having started her journey with Toward Zero Waste as a volunteer in the summer of 2022 and continued on to become our first paid intern. Apart from her role as an intern at Toward Zero Waste, she works at the Waste Reduction and Recycling Office at NC State and serves as a College of Natural Resources Ambassador for the university, showcasing her commitment to sustainability. Kate’s enthusiasm for her work and her diverse range of experiences make her an invaluable asset to Toward Zero Waste.
