Description

Toward Zero Waste North Carolina is excited to launch our first ever t-shirt fundraiser!

While supplies last, receive your very own sustainably-sourced TZW t-shirt with a donation of $10 or more. These donations will go toward educational events, awareness campaigns, youth grants, engagement, and much more.

Our aubergine colored shirt features our signature Z with the 5+ Rs of zero waste artwork donated by GC Design on the front, and the Toward Zero Waste logo on the back.

The shirt comes in two styles, fitted or unisex and the fit runs slightly big; so if you are between sizes you may want to size down.

Toward Zero Waste North Carolina participates in Climate Stripe, which contributes 1% of your donation to  CO₂ mitigation.

FAQs

But is giving away t-shirts zero waste?

While we are not a fan of free swag, T-shirts can be a great way to spread the zero waste message, as long as they are well sourced, support that message and are truly wanted! (See below for an opportunity to #Refuse the shirt.) The TZW executive team has taken great care in choosing these t-shirts to find something that met the triple bottom line of planet, people and profits; we found that in TS Designs, North Carolina’s first B-corp.

Located in Burlington, 100% of their shirts are made in the USA from US-grown pre-shrunk cotton resulting in a soft, sturdy, long-lasting shirt. TS Design’s unique water-based print & garment dye process gives a high quality, sustainably printed shirt. We hope both the design and the production of the shirts can help spread our message and spur conversations about zero waste and sustainable practices…plus, we think you’ll look pretty cool in it!

How and when will I get my shirt?

Our goal with this fundraiser is to be as zero waste as possible, so we will be offering several options to receive your shirt:

If you live in the Raleigh and Cary area, you’ll have options for Local Pickup, Local Delivery, or Free Shipping. Just enter your address in the Calculate Shipping box during checkout to see if you qualify.

For Local Pickup, just let us know in the order notes if you would like to come out to an upcoming event to pickup, or we will reach out via email after your donation to schedule.

For Local Delivery, our TZW executive team will be scheduling a day to make deliveries of shirts within the Raleigh and Cary area (many of our team members have electric cars, so delivery will be emissions free!). We will reach out ahead of time via email with more specifics.

For Shipping, we are offering free shipping within North Carolina and a flat rate of $9.25 for any shipments outside of NC. We will be reusing existing shipping envelopes in order to cut down on waste as much as possible.

Can I get more than one shirt?

Due to the small supply of shirts on-hand, we are limiting it to one shirt per donation.

Where did the shirts come from?

TS Designs Logo

Our t-shirts were manufactured by North Carolina-based B-Corp TS Designs whose tagline is ‘dirt to shirt’.

TS Designs President, Eric Henry, was a panel member for our Fall 2021 discussion of the True Cost documentary about fast fashion –check it out to find out why his company was a great choice for our tees!

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes! Toward Zero Waste North Carolina is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our EIN# is 84-4162681
